“Brave” and “scorching” are words used to describe Miriam Toews’ unforgettable story of oppression and resistance in a Bolivian Mennonite community, Women Talking. Ahead of its film adaptation, TIFA has partnered with the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and its Playing With Books Series, to produce a theatrical response to this new classic. This North American premiere presentation consists of a 60-minute performance, followed by an informative conversation with playwright Linda McLean, director Orla O’Loughlin, author Miriam Toews and moderator Carly Maga.
