The Swingin’ Moonlight Reading Hour

Sean Michaels’ (The Wagers) Swingin’ Moonlight Reading Hour is a vivid, imaginative cabaret: for one night only, a team of Toronto’s most artful musicians—Joseph Shabason, Bram Gielen, Thom Gill and Germaine Liu—will accompany readings by some of the Festival’s most exciting authors, using words and music to change the tempo and bring literature to life. Featuring writers Cherie Dimaline (Empire of Wild), Steven Price (Lampedusa), Zeruya Shalev (Pain), and Souvankham Thammavongsa (Cluster) with a band custom-curated from the city’s independent music scene.

Please note that previously scheduled author Tash Aw (We The Survivors), will no longer appear at this event due to a scheduling conflict. Please stay tuned for his rescheduled 2019 Festival appearance.
