Guided Tour - Toronto Railway Museum

“Tales of the Rails” uncovers how Toronto’s railways shaped the social landscape of the city since their introduction in the early 1800s. How were Toronto’s oldest communities impacted by the development of the railways? Join us on this guided tour to find out!

Tales of the Rails is an approximately 30-minute, in-depth, guided walking tour that takes visitors around Roundhouse Park and into our historical passenger cars. Admission into the museum space in Stall 17 of the Roundhouse is included in this ticket.

Our tours are time-sensitive due to the volume of interest, so attendees MUST be on time. A 5 minute grace period for latecomers will be given prior to the departure of the tour.

Please Note: Museum admission is included in the cost of a timed tour ticket (Tales of the Rails) and you do not need to purchase additional admission. To browse tickets for General Admission ONLY, click here.

The safety and well-being of our visitors, volunteers, and museum staff are our highest priority. While we look forward to welcoming you back, additional health and safety precautions are in place. We ask that visitors stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are considered to be in a high risk category. Before visiting, please use Ontario Health’s self-assessment tool available here.

We strongly recommend that all visits to the museum are pre-booked. Timed ticketing will accommodate reduced museum capacity and physical distancing.

We require all staff and visitors to wear a mask. City of Toronto By-Law 541-2020 requires all visitors to wear a non-medical mask or face covering if they are able. We also ask that visitors frequently wash or sanitize hands and maintain physical distancing inside and outside of the museum and on tours. We thank our visitors in advance for complying with these new modifications. Learn more about the ways we’re working to provide a safe museum experience here.
